of weapons into camden, philly, new york, new haven, that flow of weapons into these streets, many of them coming to the south where they have secondary markets that are thriving, they would stop and dry up. so on the local level, this is what mayors get so frustrated about. we are pouring incredible amounts of money, almost my entire property tax base, forget about the rest of government, is being used for public safety purposes. more police, more cameras. i'm doing everything right now, i've got a woman with a caliber, she were melting down seized weapons and selling them as jewelry in order to get money for more gun buy backs. you name it, id am trying it. but without state and federal laws changes, many mayors are fighting an uphill battle and won't be able to stop the levels of violence in america to the extent that we want. this is a moment and it needs leadership to seize it at every level of government. >> you hooked me up with a link. >> caliber is the name of it. >> it just hit me. right there. >> a good percentage of the profits are going to gun buy back programs in my city. mar

who's a moderate in a special election, and in upstate new york which a lot of people had forgotten, but was kind of the kickoff to this purge of nonconservativeses. then gingrich apologized when the third, you know, the third-party candidate lost with -- it's complicated. basically the conservative might have won had the republican pulled out completely. said, i'm sorry, i'll never do it again. the demint vision for how to bring republicans to bear what they have to believe if they're republicans has spread far beyond places where it is sellable. and, again, the people who disagree with him, they just don't see what he gained for all that opposition. they saw, you stopped a couple of spending bills, but in the long run, or at least in the next couple years, you just set up a bunch of crisis points where republicans don't have lots of leverage because our message looks like your message and voters reject it. i mean, voters by about a 20-point margin blame republicans now or they will blame republicans if there's a fiscal cliff crisis. >> right. they perspectively -- they perspective

for failures, security failures prior to benghazi. so to blame susan rice who's over at the u.n. mostly in new york city for benghazi is really a stretch. she was the person who went out on sunday television. and she said today to brian williams that she is not blameless. i think there was a lack of care with the talking points and the republicans seized on it and claims she was being political and trying to be political at a key point in the presidential election campaign, which she strongly denies. >> but you're saying that the president's statements to that effect were not enough because they were not backed up with essentially procedural support for her to be fighting these attacks that could have happened had he nominated her. >> once she's nominated she is armed with the white house counsel's office-w every wise person, man or woman in washington who would be assigned to her to get her through the nomination process. but she was left -- she said she didn't feel that she's a victim here, but she certainly did acknowledge to brian that she thinks politics played a part. and i don't think t

again. "the new york times" reports that one idea bouncing around the right side of the aisle is this. the republicans will extend tax cuts for the middle class, and then when they need to raise the debt ceiling, quote, demand deep concessions on medicare and social security as a price to raise the debt ceiling. one republican senator reportedly called the debt ceiling the line in the stand. the odds are pretty close to zero that we mint a $1 trillion coin in order to pay off some of the debt. but there's striking movement in the direction of changing the rules so we don't ever have to fight over this completely unnecessary issue ever again. remember, this is important. the debt ceiling isn't about incurring future debt. it's about the money congress has already duly authorized and appropriated and voted to spend. it's not a fight about whether or not to spend money, it's a fight about whether or not to pay your credit card bill. today, the president basically said, no more. y'rp+ing this dumb fight. i am not going to do it again. >> i want to send a very clear message to people here.
